Enjoy local crafts, unique gifts, and handmade treasures at this open-air market located along the Replica Canals at the Buffalo Waterfront’s premiere urban event space, Canalside!

Here you can find yourself amongst Western New York’s most talented creators in a market providing goods including glass, pottery, fiber arts, stationery, woodcrafts, purses, soaps, jewelry, toys, candles, and more.

Each week from 11:00AM – 5:00PM a rotating assortment of creators will showcase their best work for your purchasing pleasure. While you browse the canals, enjoy live performances from local talent, food and beverage within the Honda Pavilion Tent, and Live Fearless activities provided by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York.

To see if your favorite creator will be at the canals, visit the Buffalo Waterfront on Facebook to find Creators on the Canal under Upcoming Events. We look forward to seeing you there!

All products must be screened and accepted before being sold at the Canal. The general guidelines are:

  • Items and selections must be handmade, grown, gathered or curated by the artist/vendor/creator, cost a member of their immediate family living in New York, or a partner in craft living in New York.
  • The creator’s contribution to a finished product must outweigh the contribution of any commercial components used in the making of that product. Skills in craftsmanship, as well as creative abilities, ingenuity and design skills are examples of artist contribution.
  • The product must meet basic expectations of product life, function, and safety.

You MUST have a New York State tax ID number to sell at the Canal.

At Creators on the Canal, the Creator must be the Seller. A helper may help the Creator in the booth, and may cover the booth alone while the Creator takes reasonable breaks during the day.
