Great Lakes Cruises
Buffalo’s Waterfront Is Officially on the Map
The Buffalo Waterfront is entering a new era as a Great Lakes cruise destination. Starting in 2026, American Cruise Lines will make Buffalo a port of call on its Great Lakes itineraries, docking at Canalside for the first time in decades.
Set Sail from the Queen City
This May through October, the American Patriot makes its debut on Buffalo’s waterfront. As the newest 130-guest small ship in the country, it brings two world-class journeys to Canalside:
- 9 Days: A scenic tour of Lake Ontario and the Thousand Islands
- 14 Days: An epic expedition spanning three Great Lakes
Coming to the Outer Harbor in 2027
A permanent cruise terminal is planned at Slip 2 on the Outer Harbor, bringing a dedicated home for Great Lakes cruising to Buffalo. Site improvements will include upgraded seawall shoring, improved public access, landscaping, customs processing facilities, and public restrooms.
Upcoming Cruises
All 2026 cruises arrive and depart from Canalside. Booking is available directly through American Cruise Lines.
