Lakeside Bike Rodeo

On Saturday, June 20th from 9:30am-12pm, enjoy this free, interactive, community-led event designed to teach children under 14 safe bicycling and traffic navigation skills. Hosted across Western New York, these sessions build riding confidence in a non-competitive, closed-course setting.

This rodeo features a series of designated stations and engaging, practical activities:

• Safety & Maintenance Checks: Kids learn the "ABC quick check" to inspect tire air, brakes, and chains. Helmet fittings ensure proper protection.
• Obstacle & Agility Courses: Using chalk and cones, children navigate simulated roadways to practice weaving, straight-line control, sudden stopping, and safe lane changing.
• Rules of the Road: Instructors teach traffic signs, how to yield to pedestrians, and the proper hand signals for turning.
