Whether you're on foot or two wheels, the Buffalo Waterfront has some of the best trails in the city. Flat, scenic, and connected, the paths along Canalside and the Outer Harbor make it easy to cover a lot of ground with Lake Erie as your backdrop the entire way.
Explore the Trails
Canalside Loop
A shorter, walkable loop around the Canalside site, perfect for a lunchtime stroll or a casual lap with the family. You’ll pass key landmarks, including the Waterway of Change, the Heritage Carousel, and the beach.
Getting Around
Rent a Bike
Bike rentals are available seasonally at Canalside and the Outer Harbor. Reddy Bikeshare stations are located throughout the Outer Harbor at Wilkeson Pointe and Terminal B.
Queen City Bike Ferry
The Bike Ferry connects Canalside to the Outer Harbor in a five- to 10-minute scenic ride across the water for only $1. Runs seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Bike Parking & Racks
Bike racks are available throughout Canalside and the Outer Harbor. Independent Health Bike Valet is also available adjacent to the front gate during concerts and large events.

Trails are open year-round. Surface conditions may vary seasonally. Paths may be affected by weather, events, or maintenance closures. Check back for updates.
Paved, accessible paths connect key areas at both Canalside and the Outer Harbor. Stroller and mobility aid–friendly routes are available throughout. Contact us in advance if you have specific accessibility needs.
