Buffalos Winters Are Better on Ice

When the temperature drops, Canalside transforms into one of the best winter destinations in the city. Ice skate, rent an ice bike, grab a spot in an igloo, or catch Friday Night Lights, there's plenty to keep you warm all season long.

Ice Skating

Canalside's public ice-skating rink is one of Buffalo's favorite winter traditions. Skate rentals are available on-site. All ages and skill levels welcome.

Ice Bikes of Buffalo

Rent an ice bike and cruise the rink in a whole new way. No skating experience required.

Ice Bumper Cars

On ice. Yes, really. Canalside's ice bumper cars are a crowd favorite for families and groups. They’re fast, fun, and unlike anything else in the city.

Curling at the Ice

Try your hand at one of winter's most talked-about sports right on the Canalside ice. Curling sessions are available seasonally and are great for groups and first-timers.

Igloos at The Ice

Reserve a heated waterfront igloo for a cozy night out with friends or family. A unique Canalside experience – lake views and a warm glow all evening long.

Friday Night Lights at The Ice

Every Friday night, Canalside turns up the energy on the ice with lights, music, and a lively winter atmosphere. Free to attend and open to all!

Ice Express Train

All aboard! The Ice Express Train is a new trackless train running on the ice during Kids Club.

Back When It’s Cold

Winter activities return each November. Check back for opening dates and this season's schedule. In the meantime, there's still plenty happening at the waterfront.
