6/12 Megan

All Levels Flow, Sunday June 12, 10:00-11:00am
Join Yoga Parkside's Founder, Megan Callahan, for this fun all levels flow class as our debut of the High mark Blue Cross/Blue Shield season! Beginners are welcome, as well as seasoned practitioners with different options offered throughout the practice. Join us as we create harmony and flow between our inner experience, using an awareness of breath, and the outer experience, our relationship to the world around us. Please bring a yoga mat, water, sunblock/hat/sunglasses and a towel. Yoga Parkside will be

6/19 & 7/10 Jen

One of the tenets of Yoga is svadhyaya, or self-study, and it’s through this that Jen plans her instruction for each class. A yoga practitioner for over 10 years, Jen has had to dramatically alter her practice and teaching to accommodate her diagnoses with autoimmune diseases. As such, she considers the whole person and focuses on guiding students to make the best choices for their bodies and practice.

Yin yoga is a slower, deeper, more inward-turning style of yoga. While you won’t get a cardiovascular workout from this class, you will still need to focus, challenge yourself, and lean into more internal body and mind work. Focusing on the fascia and connective tissues in the body, yin can help strengthen the joints, adding stability and balance to the body.

6/26 & 8/7 Lin

Lin will teach a relaxing and refreshing all levels flow. In her own words, “Yoga teaches us to let go, be flexible in life, accept things that we can not change, and it gives us the courage to change the things we can. It teaches us so much about ourselves, and gives us a keen sense of awareness as to where we are in our journeys.”

7/3 Theresa

Teresa Corrigan began practicing yoga more than 20 years ago. She loves the way the mat feels like home, but at the same time there is always something to learn. She also loves how yoga helps makes you mentally and physically stronger for life off the mat. In the summer Teresa loves hiking and bicycling.

Teresa will teach a Vinyasa flow, starting slowly and gradually building some heat. There will always be options to scale up or down, and do what is best for your body on that day. The goal is to finish practice with your body and mind integrated and invigorated.

Sorren 7/17 & 8/21

A class focused on prolonged stretching to increase flexibility (on and off the mat) with some vinyasa to get a little energy flowing through us for the day! I use several anatomical cues and modifications to allow accessibility across the lifespan.

Maya 7/24 & 7/31

This gentle Yoga class will focus on releasing tension, connecting with the breath and helping you gain strength and flexibility. Using classical hatha postures with slight variations to accommodate all levels of students.

Symphonie 8/14 & 8/28

Symphonie will teach a playful and explorative all levels flow.

About Symphonie - Buffalo native Symphonie Allen is passionate about her work. As a Childbirth Doula, Certified Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher, Perinatal Yoga Teacher, and Alternative Healing Practitioner her goal is to bring conscious wellness into her own communities including the east and west sides of Buffalo. Symphonie is the proud owner and founder of Her Sacred Way LLC., focusing on feminine self-care and wellness offerings for black women and girls. She believes that we cannot expect life to be "easy” always, but we can however choose which “hard” will be most rewarding in the end, so that we can enjoy the journey along the way.

Paul 9/4

Although there will be movement and classic Hatha Yoga poses, there will be more of a focus on the connection of the little self with the big self. Intention setting, grounding, and inner exploration will also be part of this class. Meditation is the centerpiece of Paul’s yoga practice, and the focused intention movement of a Hatha class helps to deepen his meditation practice.
